Operation of smoking cessation clinics

• Target audience: Residents and office workers in the area, youth smokers, etc.
• Period: Monday to Friday (09:00 to 18:00), every second Saturday of the month (09:00 to 13:00)
• Location: Smoking Cessation Clinic on the 6th floor of Dongjak-gu Public Health Center, Sadang Branch Smoking Cessation Clinic (every Friday)

  • 1-9 customized smoking cessation counseling and education sessions
    • - Measurement of nicotine dependence and carbon monoxide
    • - 1:1 smoking cessation education and counseling
    • - Provision of smoking cessation aids (nicotine patches, candies, gum), and behavioral therapies (oral hygiene tablets, etc.)

      Smoking cessation aids are provided after consultation if necessary, and are limited to a 2-week supply per session, with a 6-week prescription as a rule.

  • Follow-up management: Management and consultation of registrants for up to 6 months via phone, SMS, email, etc.
  • Termination: Normal termination (if smoking cessation is confirmed through urine test/CO measurement after 6 months - smoking cessation success souvenir provided) Interim termination (loss of contact, refusal to quit smoking, transfer, etc.)

Designation of non-smoking areas to create a non-smoking environment

• In order to prevent damage from secondhand smoke and protect the health of residents, the area is designated and managed as a non-smoking area in accordance with Article 9 of the National Health Promotion Act and the Seoul Metropolitan City Dongjak-gu Secondhand Smoke Damage Prevention Ordinance.

Smoking Crackdown

• Smoking in an area designated as a non-smoking area in accordance with Article 9 of the National Health Promotion Act and Article 5 of the Seoul Metropolitan City Dongjak-gu Passive Smoking Harm Prevention Ordinance.

Designation of restricted areas for apartment complexes

• Basis: Article 9, Paragraph 5 of the National Health Promotion Act (Amended on March 2, 2016, effective September 3)
• Target: Apartment complexes under Article 2, Paragraph 3 of the Housing Act
• Contents: For apartment complexes that have applied for designation of non-smoking areas, confirm the consent of more than half of the households and designate hallways, stairwells, elevators, underground parking lots, etc. as non-smoking areas.
